SEDONA WEDDING SITES

Sedona has so many awesome and breathtakingly beautiful Wedding Sites. Some are easily accessible while others are accessed by a short hike, a bit of a climb or even a Jeep ride! The Red Rocks are magnificent and the Vistas will provide a fabulous backdrop for your Wedding Ceremony.

Here are a few of the most popular Sedona Wedding Sites and Locations.

#1: Red Rock Crossing

Red Rock Crossing Sedona Wedding SiteSedona outdoor weddings at Cathedral Rock

Red Rock Crossing is the second most photographed spot in Arizona after the Grand Canyon. This is our most popular wedding Site. Spectacular beauty in any season with Oak Creek running through band of dazzling green at the feet of majestic Cathedral Rock. The energy here is warm and inviting, very feminine and nurturing. This site is easily accessible and has plenty of parking. It is great for all size weddings.

My favorite time of the day here is early morning – Wedding parties before 11 a.m. can be assured of parking. There will be very few people – even in the summer time and weekends and the light is other worldly. At that time of the day we can even capture Cathedral reflected in the waters of Oak Creek. Sunsets are great here too!

There are other sites equally beautiful and romantic but less well known and more off the beaten track. Keep reading to find out more and see more fabulous sites!

#2: Back O' Beyond

Cathedral Rock Sedona Wedding Site

Back O’ Beyond is a fabulous spot for a Wedding. You are right on a Red Rock platform on the side of Cathedral Rock – Cathedral’s great spires rise behind you. There are breathtaking Vistas of Bell Rock, Courthouse and Twin Buttes. This is another magnetic Vortex – I call this the ‘Womb with a View’. Very nurturing, calming and loving energy.

Back O' Beyond is approached with a 7 minute moderate climb. Not good for Grandma but great for small parties and elopements. The trees here grow up in spirals in response to the energy. This is a breathtaking and romantic and definitely unforgettable Sedona Wedding site. It is one of the reasons that Sedona is a great Destination Wedding location. Parking is limited.

#3: Airport Vortex

Airport Vortex is one of my all time favorite places on the planet. This Vortex has such powerful and transformational energy. This is an electric/magnetic Vortex. That means it is balanced between male and female. Airport is perfect for small weddings, parking is very limited and the access path can be daunting to Wedding guests. The photo ops are incredible. On your hike in you have sweeping views of all of West Sedona including Cockscomb, Bear Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Coffeepot, Wilson Mountain and Shiprock. At the Wedding Site you have views of Twin Buttes, Lee Mountain, Courthouse, Bell Rock and Cathedral.

Airport Vorex Sedona Wedding Site

Airport Vortex has some really fabulous vista views, you can see Bell Rock, Cathedral, courthouse and Twin Buttes. This is an electric/magnetic vortex - balanced male/female. Easy hike and limited parking.

#4: Madonna Rock

Madonna Rock is a wonderful Wedding site. Only a 12 minute hike along the Chapel Trail and you find yourself on a Red Rock platform with a wall of Red Rocks rising up behind you, Madonna Rock and the Three Sisters enfolding you and sweeping Vista views of Cathedral Rock.

View from Madonna Rock towards Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte

It truly is a breathtakingly spectacular location. The energy here is very nurturing, magnetic and feminine. Natures own Chapel Amphitheatre – perfect for your Sedona Wedding. Parking is very limited especially on weekends.

#5: Lover’s Knoll

Lover’s Knoll is just off a winding mountain road with world class views. There have been many car commercials filmed on this road. Spreading before you are Twin Buttes, Schnebley Hill, Lee Mountain, Courthouse Butte and Cathedral.

Sunset is the optimum time at this site and Sunset on a full Moon night cannot be beat anywhere on Planet Earth. Indescribable beauty, lighting and energy, a Wedding here on the Full Moon would be legendary. It’s got easy access and ample parking – an unbeatable choice – as I said on any sunset night and on a Full Moon Sunset it becomes transcendent. Great for all size weddings.

#6: Huckabee Hollow

Huckabee is the start of a trail head a short way up Schnebley Hill. I found this lovely spot that is a natural Ampitheater surrounded by gorgeous Red Rock formations and an incredible Vista of all of Sedona spreading out before you. Imagine your Ceremony in the shade of a twisted Vortex Juniper on a Red Rock platform with the Red Monoliths of Schnebley Hill rising up above you.

There are a lot of pros to this site. You can reach this site with any kind of vehicle so no need for the expense of renting jeeps. It is very easy access for all ages. There is lots of parking and even a bathroom/change room at the trail head. Huckabee Hollow is quiet and secluded. It is a very memorable and unique location for your Sedona Wedding. Great for all size weddings.

#7: Isis Overlook

Isis Overlook is a real hidden gem. It is a sweet little Red Rock knoll with views that sweep around you in a 360 degree span of unparalleled beauty. To the West is Cockscomb and Doe Mesa rolling into Bear Mountain and Boynton canyon then come the great pillars of Isis Rock and then all the Secret Canyon Wilderness and Brim’s Mesa and then the back end of Thunder Mountain. It is right in the center of an amphitheater of Red Rock Glory. Access is over a bumpy dirt road. This can be done with a small party but you will have so much more fun accessing this site on the back of a jeep. This is a real adventure setting. It is still not far to go in a regular car and there is some parking. This is a site for small wedding parties or elopements. You really get a sense of the majesty of nature and the indescribable beauty and power of Sedona at Isis Overlook.

#8: Magic Vista

Magic Vista is one of those hidden treasures. I have dubbed it ‘Magic” because it truly is a magical little spot. The views are unbeatable. You are right in the shadow and the heart centered energy of SugarLoaf, Thunder Mountain rises above you with Coffee Pot (or Horus Rock). As you turn you have a magnificent 360 degree view. From Horus Rock your eye comes to Soldier’s Pass and Brim’s Mesa (called Brim because an original settler kept his prize bull – Brim up there grazing) and then Wilson Mountain and Shiprock and then Schnebley Hill and around to the Twin Buttes and Airport Vortex!

I just thought of another great reason to call it ‘Magic Vista’. Walt Disney lived in Sedona for awhile and many of the whimsical street names were given by him. He was inspired by Sedona and at Disney Land he made his focal piece “Magic Mountain” which was modeled after Thunder Mountain! This hidden little gem is the absolute easiest access Wedding Site in all of Sedona. No long hike, no climb. just pull up, park walk a few hundred yards on a flat well kept trail and you are there. The ideal times at this location are Sunset and anytime on weekends. Magic Vista is a personal favorite of mine because I love the energy of Sugar Loaf – it is the heart Center of Sedona and the Americas and that’s some powerful energy to have in your Wedding Ceremony and a great way to begin your married life together. This site is great for all size weddings.

#9: Bell Rock

Weddings at Sedona's Bell Rock Vortex

Bell Rock is a well known Sedona Monument. Great views of the valley in front of it with Courthouse Rock beside it and Twin Buttes and Cathedral in the distance. This site has very electric and powerful energy. It acts like a giant transmitter. Your vows and commitments to each other will be definitely heard and noted by the Divine. There is plenty of parking and it is accessible with a moderate 10 minute hike. So this is a spot great for all size weddings.

#10: Merry Go Round

Merry Go Round is part of our Sedona Weddings Adventure Package. It is accessed over a very long and bumpy dirt road. You will need four wheel drives or even more fun is to rent pink jeeps (they even put a JUST MARRIED sign on the back of the jeep for the ride down.)

The ride is worth it though. Merry Go Round is up at the top of Schnebley Hill and the magnificent views of the Red Rock Buttes of Schnebley Hill and sweeping views into the Valley of Sedona are Awesome.

Merry Go Round has limited parking and is perfect for elopements and small weddings.

#11: Mystic Vista

This is a true hidden gem. The forestry Service kept telling me to check it out. Finally on my birthday I took a hike out to it - and what a birthday present it was. It is only about a 15 to 20 minute hike but on your Wedding day it might be more fun to rent jeeps or get a jeep tour to drive everyone out to this incredible Knoll. it has views of Cockscomb, Doe Mesa, Bear Mountain, Boynton Canyon, Thunder Mountain, Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock and Cathedral.

You are smack dab in the middle of wilderness and in the middle of all these rock formations. It truly is worth the effort to access it. This is for small Weddings and Elopements but it will work for a bigger adventurous party in jeeps.

#12: Sugar Loaf

Sugar Loaf is one of those sweet local spots. Not many visitors find it or even know how very special Sugar Loaf is. It's known as the very Heart center of the Americas. An unassuming little Knoll in the middle of West Sedona. It has wonderful views of Thunder Mountain and Coffee Pot Rock and Chimney Rock. It's a fabulous Wedding Site at Sunset. The light on the rocks is amazing and you are up close and personal with some beautiful Red Rocks.

The energy here is very heart centered and loving, gentle and sweet and accepting. In fact, Reverend Akal and I were married alongside sugar Loaf under a Tree that we now call the Wedding Tree. We visit it almost daily in our hikes and go there to renew our vows and connection whenever we feel the need. It's definitely a favorite of ours. This is a very easy hike to a spot we call the Singing Rock. Parking is limited in the lot but there is over flow available on the street.

#13: Panoramic Vista

Red rock weddings in Sedona ArizonaOutdoor weddings in Sedona AZ

This is a very secluded Wedding Site.  Surrounded by High Red Rock Walls, Wilson Mountain, Shiprock, Tugboat Rock, The Mitten and Thunder Mountain.  It is a quiet circle embraced by the lush green of Juniper and Ponderosa Pine Trees. Very easy to reach about a 3 minute climb and plenty of parking.

#14: The Sedona Tipi Temple

The Sedona Tipi Temple is the most unique Wedding Location you will find. In the shadow of Thunder Mountain this beautiful Tipi Temple is large enough for a party of approx. 20 people. The circle shape echoes the circle of your rings and your eternal love. Inside the Tipi Rises high over your head and has the feeling of a pyramid. The acoustics are amazing and the interior walls are the same magenta hue of the local claret cup cactus flowers. The walls themselves have been filled with crystals during construction which amplifies the energy of this spot. The Tipi Temple is a wonderful location for our Shamanic Wedding package or at the very least some drumming and singing!!

You can learn more about the Tipi temple at our Tipi Temple Package page.

A Sedona Tipi Temple Wedding is very Sacred and very private. This is a beautiful jewel hidden in the heart of the Red Rock.
